Announcing regular illustration demonstrations at Harvey Norman Garden City!

Demonstrations will be given by talented young Caitlin, an accomplished illustrator and manga/anime artist. Currently in year 9 in high school, Caitlin has been drawing for some five years and has been working on her own Intuos3 6x8 for the past six months.

Q: How long have you been using Wacom tablets?
A: I’ve had my own tablet ( Intuos3 6x8 ) for about six months now, but before I got my own, I used to go into Harvey Norman and constantly leave random artwork on the Wacom tablet displays.

Q: What's the difference between using a Wacom tablet vs. paper?
A. I originally started drawing with the traditional pencil, pen and water colour, so when I started using the tablet I noticed that it was both easier to edit my work and to draw completely from scratch straight into the computer rather than attempting to clean up scans, although I still love paper.

Q. Are you working on any stories?
A. Yes I am. I’m currently working on illustrating and co-writing a children’s picture book, as well as writing and drawing my own manga series which I hope will one day reach the shelves.

Q. What is your favorite subject to illustrate?
A. I have my very own muse and inspiration that goes by the name of Tsurugi; he is my very own character from my manga and I probably draw him more than anything or anyone else.
